WHAT I DO
People are at the centre of my work – with their strengths and weaknesses, I am your point of contact for children, young people and adults with dyscalculia and dyslexia/dyslexia/dyslexia.
We also offer learning counselling and learning training for young people.

Learning coaching for AD(H)D
Children and young people with ADD/ADHD learn differently. They have difficulty controlling themselves and therefore struggle to direct their attention. They are less able to block out stimuli and concentrate on the essentials. They are constantly “on the go”, “shooting off” (hyperactive ADHD) or daydreaming while learning (hypoactive ADHD). They react impulsively to instructions or don’t even realise they have been given. Starting work can be put off forever and work is often done in a haphazard, cursory and rushed manner.
Together we look at how those affected can gradually control and maintain their attention. Studies have shown that good self-control accounts for 75% of school success, intelligence for only 25%. And this is exactly where we come in. Because good self-control has a positive effect on all learners.
Circumscribed developmental disorders of school skills such as dyscalculia and dyslexia are quite common with AD(H)D.
There is probably a connection because concentrated and systematic work is a prerequisite for a successful reading and writing learning process. Easy distractibility and impulsive behaviour, which are typical of children with ADHD, make the learning process more difficult.
The comorbidity of dyslexia and ADHD can also be associated with emotional problems such as anxiety disorders and depression.
How can children, young people and adults with AD(H)D learn successfully?
Dealing with AD(H)D needs to be trained. But the following methods also help children without a diagnosis:
- Reduction of exciting, distracting stimuli
- Assessment of the current ability to concentrate
- Methoden lernen, wie bewusst in die Arbeit ein- und wieder ausgestiegen werden kann
- Find signals that lead you out of daydreaming
- Plan regular breaks to allow the attention system to recover
- Dealing calmly with failures and mistakes
- Knowing how dreaminess and impulsiveness can be used as a strength
- Finding your way into tedious, repetitive and boring tasks
- Improve memorisation: learn with variety, repetition
- Integrate newly learnt structures into school and everyday life
